Back Pain ─ Symptoms of Pregnancy
Back Pain Symptom Overview
Backaches and aching near the pelvic bone are common in pregnant women due to the increase weight of your baby, pressure and position of your baby's head and the loosening of your joints. As progesterone (a pregnancy hormone) increases, it will start to soften ligaments in preparation for the stretching required during pregnancy. This softening put extra strain on the back and hip joints. The discomfort can be felt in the mid to lower back, the buttocks and in the legs.

- Rest by reclining in a chair or ling on your back.
- Apply hot and cold packs.
